The annual Master Gardener Training will begin on February 2, 2010. For an application, contact Hattie Braun at 928-774-1868x17 or e-mail hbraun@cals.arizona.edu.
Classes are taught by University of Arizona Extension professionals, Master Gardeners and other horticultural experts. The program covers the challenges specific to high altitude gardening. Some sample topics covered include: Botany, Soils, Composting, Native Plants, Fruit Trees, Plant Problems/Diagnosis, Pruning, Vegetables, Ornamentals, Entomology, Xeriscape and Urban Forestry.
Cost for the class is $250, which includes the Arizona Master Gardener Manual ($50 is refundable for completing the volunteer portion of the class).
Class size is limited. Register early!

Welcome to the Coconino County Master Gardeners Association
The Coconino Master Gardener Association began in 2009 to create a corps of well-informed volunteers, and to deliver quality horticultural education programs adapted to our regional high elevation environment. The association provides support for Master Gardener graduates and volunteers as well as continuing education and opportunities to participate in community programs that increase the visibility and participation in the Master Gardener Program.
Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church 1601 N. San Francisco St. in Flagstaff, Arizona.
