Welcome to the Coconino County Master Gardeners Association

The Coconino Master Gardener Association began in 2009 to create a corps of well-informed volunteers, and to deliver quality horticultural education programs adapted to our regional high elevation environment. The association provides support for Master Gardener graduates and volunteers as well as continuing education and opportunities to participate in community programs that increase the visibility and participation in the Master Gardener Program.

CMGA Summer Garden Tours Resume

Summer garden tours resume - more to come!
I am filling in for Debi Stalvey who is having a busy summer. I will host the tours on the 13th and 27th and Cindy Krznarich will hot the 20th Watch this space for updates.

Saturday August 13, at 10am.
Visit the garden of Susan Lamb and Tom Bean
4680 Lake Mary Road
Native plants surround this home and blend into the forest, offering varied habitats to insect pollinators, lizards, and birds. Columbines, monarda, and aspens favor the sheltered north side, while penstemons and Flagstaff senecio thrive on the sunny south.
Directions: Please do not rely on your GPS. From Beulah Boulevard, drive east on Lake Mary Road for 3.5 miles. Where the road reaches the bottom of a small valley, turn left onto the unmarked road by four mailboxes. About 1/2 mile past the gate, take the driveway marked “Bean—Rabbit Hill.”

Saturday August, 20, at 10am
Visit the gardens of Riordan Mansion. This has been a master gardener project for several years. Debi Stalvey and Gili Thomas head up the project this year.
Directions: 409 W. Riordan Road. Take Milton Road  south from downtown and turn right at Riordan Road. It is on the right.
If you want to take the house tour after, reservations are suggested for a Saturday. There is a fee for the tour.

Saturday, August 27th, at 10am
We will tour the Doney Park garden of Loren and Joyce Cunningham.
The Cunningham's are pleased to invite you for a tour of their garden at 8775 Leah Lane.  To get to our house, take 89A north past the mall to Silver Saddle.  Turn right on Silver Saddle, go down about ¾ a mile, turn right again onto Leah Lane, and 8775 is the fourth house on your left.  It’s a white house with green trim.
Their mature garden features many native as well as non-native species.  There is a water feature, greenhouses, a vegetable garden in raised beds, and more recently-planted, a mini apple orchard with an evergreen buffer.
