Reporting Master Gardener Hours

All master gardener trainees and certified master gardeners need to report their hours.
Beginning in 2010 certified master gardeners need to have 6 Education hours and 12 Volunteer hours in order to maintain certification. The on line reporting system allows you to report Education or Volunteer hours. You can sign in to record hours in the right hand column under Recording Volunteer and Education Hours. Just click on the U. of A.
If you have any questions or concerns about the new reporting system, please contact Brenda Smith (A - M) or Sue Madden (N - Z). Their contacts are listed at the bottom of the blog under
Contacts.

Ideas for hours------
--Attend monthly meetings
--Work on an association committee
--Work at an informational booth for the Master Gardeners
--Be a speaker about gardening topics at a variety of venues

--Host a garden tour
--Work at a fundraising event (Plant Sale - Garden Tour).
--Work at a MG site (Olivia White Hospice, the Arboretum, Riordan Mansion, or school gardens (many others)). Check out the Assoc. Doc. & Forms under Volunteer Sites.

Be creative! There are many ways to fulfill your hours. Just remember for volunteering it needs to be a non-profit endeavor or an approved for profit site.

Good morning everyone!

We will meet at 9:30 and generally work until 1:30.  You are welcome to come for all or some of the time.  Any time you can give really helps.
I am unable to work at Riordan on Saturdays but anyone can go and help out at any time.  Just call me and I'll give you some ideas of things that need to be done.  699-3331

Thanks for all you do!

 Update from Dave 8/27

Just wanted to let you know that I will be at Riordan Mansion this Friday morning from 9:30 to 12:30 to do weeding and deadheading in the gardens.

If anyone would like to join me please feel welcome.

My plan for the rest of the season is to be at the mansion each Friday morning whether we have a work day scheduled or not.

The season will end on October 24th with our final clean up day.

Our two scheduled workdays for September are the 12th and the 26th.  I will send project details when we get closer to those dates.

Enjoy this wonderful monsoon weather!

Dave
