Welcome to the Coconino County Master Gardeners Association

The Coconino Master Gardener Association began in 2009 to create a corps of well-informed volunteers, and to deliver quality horticultural education programs adapted to our regional high elevation environment. The association provides support for Master Gardener graduates and volunteers as well as continuing education and opportunities to participate in community programs that increase the visibility and participation in the Master Gardener Program.

Volunteer Opportunity

I wanted to let you know about a special project. I don't know if the Gardners would be interested in helping or not.

If you remember last summer there was a little boy in Timberline who was accidentally run over by a tractor driven by his father. He subsequently died. Naturally his parents are devastated and are trying to keep going. There is also a little brother. His mother is a dispatcher for the Sheriff's office with my daughter and his father is a deputy. They are starting a non-profit organization to try to help raise money for scholarships in their son's name. They have a building and are going to be working on a Butterfly Garden. In fact the Butterfly Garden is a big part of this project. It seems that their son was facinated with butterflys, but highly afraid of them. It was one of the many quirks that make parents love their children so much.

When I heard about the Butterfly Garden I automatically thought of you guys. If you are interested let me know and I will get you the contact information.
