The eggs hatched 2 weeks ago.  We had chicks for a few days.  Then mother probably took chicks from nest.

Flagstaff Community Market Open for On-line Orders

The Flagstaff Community market is open for on-line orders. Check out their site or the Daily Sun for details.

If you go

• All online farmers market orders can be placed at www.flagstaffmarket.com/ beginning Mondays at noon. Ordering closes Thursdays at 12 noon.
• Pick up hours are Sunday from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Flagstaff City Hall parking lot, 211 W. Aspen Ave.
• Please bring a printed copy or phone picture of your order receipt to ensure FCM gets your order correct.
• For drive-thru pick up: Vehicles MUST enter the market from the west on Aspen Ave. Please access Aspen Ave. from Thorpe St. and drive east on Aspen to get in line.
• For walk-up and bike-up: Walk/bike pick up tables are located at the west lot entrance off Aspen Ave. (The entrance closest to the Federated Church). People are encouraged to use this option. Volunteers will check everyone in and delivery orders directly to recipients. Feel free to park at the Wheeler Park parking lot (no charge). Please use social distancing practices if you are waiting in line at the walk-up station.
• For home delivery: FCM will be contacting you and delivering your order Sunday morning. If you are not home, produce will be left on the front doorstep.

Community Garden Plot

In partnership with the City of Flagstaff’s Sustainability Program, Terra BIRDS manages four community gardens:

• Bonito Street Community Garden - Downtown on the corner of Bonito and Elm. Individual and group plots are available.
• Izabel Street Community Garden - Sunnyside neighborhood north of the skate park on Izabel.
• O'Leary Street Community Garden - Near NAU just south of the Springhill Baptist Church. Individual and group plots are available.
• Hebets Community Garden - Along the FUTS trail in Coconino Estates just off Crescent Drive. Hebets is managed as a permaculture food forest. No individual plots are available.

Things to Know:

• Plots are $65 per year.  Limited full and half scholarships available for those with demonstrated financial need.  Please inquire.
• Sign-up for the 2020 growing season has begun. All gardeners will need to complete an application and a waiver. (Note: If you are a new gardener, please inquire before submitting your paperwork and ask to be put on the New Gardener email list. Submission of paperwork is not a guarantee that you be assigned a plot.)
• Returning gardeners must have turned in completed paperwork and paid for their plot by April 24th.  If you are a returning gardener that has not submitted paperwork and paid for your fee yet, your plot has been released for rental to other interested gardeners. You may inquire to see if your plot is still available.
• New gardeners may be placed on a waiting list if there are no immediate openings.

Flagstaff Sustainability Grants

Sustainability Grant Program deadline:

• This program provides small grants to local residents, organizations or businesses that are taking climate action or working on sustainability projects in Flagstaff. Almost anyone can apply for a grant to improve our community’s sustainability or water conservation.
• This program now has additional categories in food, waste, climate action, and resilience.
• The application is now open until May 31^st.
