Reporting Master Gardener Hours

All master gardener trainees and certified master gardeners need to report their hours.
Beginning in 2010 certified master gardeners need to have 6 Education hours and 12 Volunteer hours in order to maintain certification. The on line reporting system allows you to report Education or Volunteer hours. You can sign in to record hours in the right hand column under Recording Volunteer and Education Hours. Just click on the U. of A.
If you have any questions or concerns about the new reporting system, please contact Brenda Smith (A - M) or Sue Madden (N - Z). Their contacts are listed at the bottom of the blog under
Contacts.

Ideas for hours------
--Attend monthly meetings
--Work on an association committee

--Be a speaker about gardening topics at a variety of venues

--Host a garden tour
--Work at a fundraising event (Plant Sale - Garden Tour).

Garden Start Seedling CSA for 2014

Happy New Year Garden Start members!
Its come upon us fast, but its garden start csa time!!! I am grateful that Helen Sisk will be our grower again. Lissa Busyke will be on board to help Helen this year. I am handing the torch over to Deja Walker, who will be our registration and volunteer coordinator this year. Welcome Deja and Lissa!

There will be a couple of changes to the program this year:
1) We are going to use 4-packs in stead of 6-packs. This means that you will receive 4 plants of EVERY crop. There will be a total of 30 crops, plus seeds and onion bulbs.
2) We are opening registration up ONLY to 2013 Garden Start members for the first month. Please feel free to register, and we'll put you on the waiting list. After March 1, anyone will be able to register.
3) For the first time, we are offering partial scholarships for those who demonstrate financial need. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this program when you register. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to this program, no amount is too small.
I have attached the registration form, the scholarship form and the 2014 crop list.
We will send out the pick-up schedule in the next couple of weeks!
Also, please let us know if you would like to volunteer in the greenhouse, or during pick-up days this year!

We are looking forward to another great year!
Cheers,
Regan
