Reporting Master Gardener Hours

All master gardener trainees and certified master gardeners need to report their hours.
Beginning in 2010 certified master gardeners need to have 6 Education hours and 12 Volunteer hours in order to maintain certification. The on line reporting system allows you to report Education or Volunteer hours. You can sign in to record hours in the right hand column under Recording Volunteer and Education Hours. Just click on the U. of A.
If you have any questions or concerns about the new reporting system, please contact Brenda Smith (A - M) or Sue Madden (N - Z). Their contacts are listed at the bottom of the blog under

December Meeting

No meeting this month but a Christmas Party was held at my home on December 17th, 2009. It was touch and go for a while with the big snowstorm but many attended. We had a delicious potluck with the County Extension supplying the Honey Baked Ham and food brought from all who attended. We also did a White Elephant Gift Exchange that provided some light hearted stealing of others gifts. The paperwhites in pots and some penstemon and poppy seeds were the most coveted gifts. Others included books and a ceramic frog.
Those who initially helped organize this group were thanked - Molly Larsen, Dana Prom Smith, Linda Guarino, and Hattie Braun. I would also like to thank those who have chaired committees and done extra work outside the meetings - Ed Skiba, Steve Shields and Crys Wells.
Hattie Braun also announced that there will be a continuing education opportuniity on February 27 at NAU. It will be a repeat of the Soil/Seed Workshop done in Snowflake this fall. Watch for e-mails and announcements that follow on this site.
We look forward to a full calender year in 2010, beginning with our first meeting on January 21, from 6:30 pm - 8:30pm at the Northland Hospice Office.
