AZNPS Garden Competitions for 2010

Wed, August 25th, 7:00 pm - 2010 Flagstaff Garden Competition SLIDESHOW and EXTRAVAGANZA! This will take place at the Federated Community Church, 400 W. Aspen Street (downtown, right across from the library). We will show slides of the twelve gardens entered in this years competiton, featuring photographs by celebrated and published outdoor photographer Tom Bean. As well, we will hand out prizes to the winners in the two categories: Native Plant and Edible Garden. It is a great way for you to view all the gardens and decide which ones you want to go on for the tour. Many plant-related groups will have tables at the event with info and items for sale. We will have light refreshments- you can bring a drink or dessert if that is something you want to do but by no means do you have to. Please come to this event and support the AZNPS! Seeing these gardens is inspiring, heartwarming, and a visual treat.

Sunday, August 29th- PUBLIC GARDEN TOUR! The hours are from 10-2. This year we are charging $5 per person for a map, which comes with a free raffle ticket. This is the only fundraiser the Flagstaff Chapter of the AZNPS has. Maps will be available after August 20th at Warners Nursery, Native Plant and Seed, Winter Sun Trading Company, and on the day of the tour at the downtown Community Farmers Market (parkinglot of City Hall, Sunday 8-12). This is truly a community-building, fun, informative and thought-provoking day for the whole family. Please come to this event and support the AZNPS!
